The Phase 2 of the Wyndham Wrocław City Centre hotel project located in close adjacency to the old Town Square commenced construction recently – following the receipt of the Building Permit for the adaptation of the office wing of the building located on Świętego Mikołaja street. The project will be operated by Mogotel under the Wyndham brand – and will be Phase 2 of the successful conversion of the former Sofitel into the new brand.
Obtaining the relevant approvals and preparing the design was a challenge for the AD-Studio team – due to the location in the conservation zone but also due to the challenges posed by the building fabric. The challenges included not only the integration with Phase 1 (which had to remain open), but also the creation of a new entrance group to provide a stronger street presence, reworking of the internal circulation to make it an efficient hotel – but also the comprehensive rework of the fire strategy to ensure the high levels of safety required in a hotel are assured.
The project is now well under construction with our team dealing with surprises that are unavoidable when working with a building – which was constructed in those years – with archive documentation often not reflecting reality.
In the interior design for the the AD-Studio team was asked to create a distinctive new identity – conforming in style to Phase 1 but being much more up to date. Public space design included the integration of the very distinctive atrium into the hotel – making it an internal hotel space – as well as the creation of a new signature restaurant that opens up into it. Adding a new F&B destination to Wrocław Old Town. We look forward to the opening in early 2024 – adding a real high quality hotel product to the Lower Silesia hotel market.
